Denis Rocan - Time to Retire

I know my Eugene post will automatically paint me as a "tory" or at the very least a right leaning Liberal (yes they do exist!), but my next post will talk about a guy who has been running for the wrong party the past 20 years. His name: Denis Rocan.

Sources have told me Denis has been a bad boy in caucus for the past few years. He slips information to the provincial NDP while hanging out with federal Liberals in his spare time. The fine people of the Carman constituency deserve someone great to represent their values and beliefs in our fine legislature. They vote conservatively both on a federal and provincial level, yet nobody I know thinks Denis is a tory.

Denis has this Saddam Hussein like rule over his seat in the house. As far back as I can remember, everyone talked about how they should or could run this guy out of his seat, yet no one has been able to do so. While many think of him a blow hard, the guy has street fighting smarts that have kept him employed by the PC's for 20 years. The more someone threatens him, the tougher he gets. Its almost become a running gag within the party. Kind of like his imaginary constituency assistant, Paul Emile. I am convinced he is an imaginary character or someone who lives in a parallel universe.

Why am I saying Denis should retire? I just realized that when Denis retires, we get to see his portrait hanging in the halls of our beloved Legislature. That will be a serious Kodak moment. The serious side of me says Carman voters deserve a refreshing change for their conservative minded votes, namely a real conservative!

I have met Denis many times over the years and he still makes me laugh. He's the only "tory" I know who called Gary Filmon a f*cking a**hole. Well, maybe Don Orchard and Clayton Manness had a few ill words circa 1986, but both were solid troopers when it counted.

****Next post: my theory on Gary Doer and his dislike of feminist socialists.

I have met Paul Emile Labossiere several times. Seems like a decent guy. Likely lives in Carman Constituency, even.

Perhaps we could do a "Where's Paul" thing, modelled after "Where's Waldo"??
